ACLS is a course that allows providers to enhance their skills in treating adult victims of cardiac arrest or cardiopulmonary emergencies. It is an advanced, instructor-led classroom course that highlights the importance of team dynamics & communication, systems of care & immediate post-cardiac-arrest care. It also covers airway management & related pharmacology. In this course, skills are taught in group sessions and group learning & testing stations where case-based scenarios are presented. This course is designed for healthcare providers who direct or participate in the management of cardiopulmonary arrest & cardiovascular emergencies such as: EMS, emergency medicine, intensive care & critical care units. Upon successful completion, students receive a Provider Card valid for 2 years. BLS trains participants to recognize emergencies, give high-quality chest compressions, deliver appropriate ventilations and provide use of an AED. In the instructor-led classroom course, students participate in simulated clinical scenarios and learning stations. Students work with a BLS Instructor to complete BLS skills practice and testing. BLS CPR is designed for healthcare providers caring for patients in prehospital and in-facility environments. Upon successful completion, students receive a Provider Card valid for 2 years.
